Explorative Narratives

  • shippy.JPG
  • Explorative Narratives were first hand accounts of travels from explorers of the Age of Exploration. These accounts provided information to the people back home in Europe, so the explorers were careful to detail what they observed.

  • Example: "So we went on our way and traversed the whole country to the South Sea, and our resolution was not shaken by the fear of great starvation (A Journey Through Texas)."
  • This is a first hand account of the explorer's trip through the new lands. The stories written by these explorers were done in a way that glorified themselves when compared to natives they met, especially in North America.
